So Lawrence was the location in Kansas and it was 24 degrees at 6am before the swim! The water was warm and the day was heating up. This was a day not to be lacking the essential electrolytes. I used Elete on my food the 2 days before the race day to ensure I wasn't low on magnesium, sodium and potassium mainly before I even started the race. I had Elete in both my bottles on the bike mixed in with energy drink and you can't even taste the Elete. It was perfect. It didn't upset my stomach and kept cramp at bay. I had neat Elete in a small bottle on the run just in case cramp decided to rear its ugly head but with the Elete taken on the bike it never happened... I'll definitley be using elete in future races...
Hope thats ok...
The result was what I wanted but the swim was pretty rough and cost me a lot of time... too much to claw back over the 70.3 distance. ... But having said that the elete definitley helped and I'll be using it in 2 weeks at Coeur D'alene Ironman...
